These are the voyages of the Starship Ella...

We've been working on the whole potty training thing. Jamie, Ella's childcare provider sent Ella home on Friday with TWO pages of instructions for the weekend. Woooo! Hoooo! It seems to be working. We've actually had a couple of perfect potty days. We're still working on the public restroom thing. It seems that they're VERY scary.

New phrases and such...

While we were gone Ella surprised me with two new phrases.

One day she crawled up on my lap, cuddled against me and said "I love you Mama." Needless to say I melted.

On a VERY different day I was getting dressed and she was playing with two toys that were having "a conversation" with each other. I wasn't paying much attention when I thought I heard the phrase "Holy S%#t!" used in context. I calmly looked at her and asked "What did you jut say?" and she just a calmly responded "Holy S%#t!" I decided it was best to ignore it and have yet to hear it again.

Happy Birthday Rob!

I know, it's a little late. We had a great celebration during our trip.

Ella and Ben insisted on having their own candles to blow out.

Thank goodness we don't have Pitbulls.

Chillin'...

For those of you who don't know, we recently returned from a visit to Vancouver, Canada to visit friends.

I found these boots during a shopping trip. They were a bit big but Ella loved them. I finally had to hide them because she would get so angry when she couldn't keep them on while walking.

Barack...

A few minutes ago I was surfing the internet, reading the news, and Ella was peering over my shoulder. She pointed and said, "That's Barack Obama." I had to ask her to repeat herself because I wasn't sure if I was hearing her right. Rob thinks it's because she makes me read Mama Voted for Obama over and over.

Today's Lessons for Ella and Mama

1) Just because one bathroom stool is put away doesn't mean that the shorter stool can't be used to reach the kitchen counter.

2) Bisquick is fun!

3) Just because there are pictures of pancakes ON the box doesn't mean that there are pancakes IN the box.

4) Piles of Bisquick on the entryway table, the floor and the counter do not pancakes make.

5) Piles of Bisquick with water do not pancakes make.

6) Bailey and Jake don't care if Bisquick and water do not pancakes make.

7) Bisquick, water, and dog slobber a big mess do make.

8) Bisquick is easily sucked up with a Dyson.

9) Bisquick, water, and dog slobber are not easily sucked up with a Dyson.

10) The above mentioned sucking does a crying toddler make.

That gives you all an idea of how the afternoon has gone. Any guesses about which lessons belong to Mama and which belong to Ella?
