Ella's into...

It's been awhile so I thought it was time for an update.

It seems that every day Ella has a new word. Some of them are a bit profane, her father's fault.

She's actually requesting this week's favorite book, "Go Dog. Go!".

She LOVES stuffed animals. Every night she picks who she sleeps with and who goes in her basket. It seems to change every night with a few regulars. Sometimes it's only 3 or 4 and sometimes she has almost all of them guarding her. This week's favorite is her new walrus from my Aunt Nancy. She even insisted on bringing it to daycare. I'll take pictures this week.

She loves flowers A.K.A. "owers." She thinks they're pretty A.K.A. "pity." It seems that they all need a good sniff, even if they're just a drawing in a book.

She LOVES Elmo. Thanks Rob. Most cartoon charters are Elmo.

Anything that goes in her hair is a "pity." Barrettes are great but they don't stay in long because they need to be admired, called "pity," and showed off to anyone paying attention. If she is wearing a "pity" she pats it and states "pity, pity" before she removes it for all to admire.

Naked is the best state of dress but something with flowers comes in 2nd.

Pools are the be jumped into even if there is no one there to catch her.

Climbing is GREAT and ladders at the park are AWESOME.

Fits are even more awesome than ladders and quite amusing for adults. She's even learned to squeeze out REAL tears. I wonder where she learned to the melodrama? Any ideas?

Rob leaves on Monday. Last month he was gone for a week and when he returned Ella was ANGRY. She refused to let him hold her for @ 2 weeks. This deployment is going to be BAD.

Peek-a-boo!!!

Homeschool anyone?

Rob's decided to get out of the Navy early and do some homeschooling.

After dinner walk

Last week Ella and I met Rob for dinner at a restaurant on the beach. We tried to have a family walk afterwards but Ella was more interested in climbing the lifeguard tower.

Basketball, Ella style...

Because why would you want to use your hand to bounce the ball when you can use a plastic rake?

Hats

The last couple of nights Ella insists on donning a hat as part of her bedtime ritual.
Here she is dressed for bed and "reading" to her father.

AHHHHH, Deep Breath...

Things are starting to seem a bit more manageable with things slowing down. I'm enjoying my job but that new employee high is gone. To quote my mother, "It's just a job like any other with all the usual personality quirks and politics." There's definitely a learning curve for me and ultrasounds are KILLING me. Some days I think I've got it right then other days, not so much.

Ella's LOVING daycare. She's spending her mornings with two siblings, age three and two. She gets excited when we get to the house and yesterday she actually turned and waved "bye, bye". It's been a harder transition for me than for her.

This was taken today while I was at work. It appears that Ella enjoys enchiladas.
