Just a quick one...

I just wanted to post a couple of photos of Rob and Ella. They were taken the night before he left. We took her to a Halloween carnival. She was less than impressed with the activities. The only way we could get her to participate in the ring toss was to put the ring on her head and so she would hurl it off like she does all her hats.

The dreaded ring hat.

Watching the ring fall.

Ella's cutting her 9th tooth, it's a molar so no photos.

Oh, check out Rob's blog. He has Bangkok photos.

Snoring...

Last night I was sleeping rather poorly, doing that thing where you're dozing in and out, and I hear snoring. My internal dialogue went something like this..."Damn, Rob's snoring again! I hate it when he does that. Should I kick him or just try to go back to sleep?" I then realized that Rob was on the other side of the dateline not on the other side of the bed. The dialogue continued... "Who's that snoring? It's has the same rhythm as Rob's snores?" Not once did I become alarmed by the snoring in my bed. I really need dog that doesn't snore like his master!

Daddy's Angel?

Doesn't she look so pleased to be in her Halloween costume?

Update

Well, Rob took off today, and I do mean that literally. He's going to Bangkok, Manila, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bandar Seri Begawan. He left with all of a backpack and hanging bag for three weeks of travel. There was even room left in backpack for presents. I think I know, that was a less than subtle hint. We miss him already. Ella and I took the dogs on a nice long walk this evening all by ourselves. Poor us! I can't whine too much. Mom will be here in a couple of days.

I promised Rob I'd try to post pretty regularly so you'll be bombarded with photos over the next few weeks. So...
JUST GET OVER IT!

Check out the nice shiner. No comments on our parenting skills please!

Isn't bath time fun?

Boy is that camera irritating!

I have no idea what she's looking for in there.

You're not going to believe me but...

Today (actually yesterday) Ella said "thank you". No, it wasn't perfectly clear but it was two syllables. I handed her a cracker and she looked up at me and said...
"Tink ooh."

Apparently she said it to Rob yesterday and he wasn't sure what it was. Yes, I have an incredibly polite toddler. No, it won't last into her teen years.

Ella discovers the light switch.

I have no idea what her eye color is, something between brown and hazel.

Oh, and she slept through the night last night, 7:30 to 7:00, without waking once. I didn't check on her a single time. Is that sad or what?

How we spend our Tuesdays...

Tuesday mornings Ella and I attend a Baby Hui. Hui means group in Hawaiian. There are about twelve moms and babies but usually only eight or so attendance each week. Ella's the oldest and Ian (the only boy) is the youngest at only one month. We have a topic that we focus on each week but it's really an excuse for the moms to get together and share experiences while the girls try to steal each others toys/pacifiers/bottles/food.

Ella IS the center of her universe.

Caught in the act! (I have no idea what act.)

Attempting escape.

Until they get distracted by some dirt.

They're ONLY Crocs!

Rob and I were at Costco earlier today where they have Crocs for $21.99. I admit, I went over to the display to try on a pair. Yes, they are VERY comfortable. While I was hypnotized by the myriad of colors I heard a conversation between mother (around age 65) and daughter (around age 42) and it went something like this...

Mother: "Look at all their Crocs. They have PINK!"

Daughter: (trying on a pair of black ones): "I'm going to get a pair but what color do you thing I should get?"

Mother: "Oh, the purple. They're classier"

CLASSY??? What!!! They have to be some of the ugliest shoes EVER. I know, I know, they're comfortable and great for the beach/pool/lake/boat. They're still UGLY! Anyone who convinced otherwise is delusional. Feel free to wear them to your heart's content but KNOW that they are ugly and CERTAINLY not classy (except maybe on small children).

Now, if only they had had some in my size because my Uggs are a bit warm for Hawaii.

Dada's home...

Yesterday night Rob got home from work after Ella's bath. He came up the stairs while I was reading to her and she struggled off my lap. They met in the hall and she looked at him with a HUGE smile and said "Dada!" That brings her word total up to THREE. If we could teach her Mama and Bailey she'd have all the residents in the house covered.

She said it again tonight as she walked, yes WALKED, into the kitchen when he got home. I'll try to post some walking video this weekend.

This is why Dada is so much fun. They're in her Crawl 'N Play, designed for ages 3+. I don't know which one of them is having the most fun.

You should have seen Rob extracting himself from this one!
