Ella's New Friend

Today was a "Difficult Ella Day," as far as "Ella Days" go. My, usually easy, child would have nothing to do with the strangers who stopped to admire her. She normally grins and laughs at anyone who looks her way. She actually turned her head away twice and then buried it in my chest. She repeatedly crossed her arms and leaned back when her grandmother reached for her. She fussed and whined until I picked her up. This continued until we went by Ward Warehouse to see some shops displaying the wares of some local artisans. We "happened upon" a children's store and just "happened" to go in. Ella quickly began the fuss routine. The ever so patient clerk pulled a puppet off the shelf. It was an "Electronic Pals Singing Duck Puppet." Withing seconds Ella was smiling. By the time we had left the store, with the puppet in tow, she was laughing. Yes, GranGi and I are suckers!!!
